A general introduction to the computer systems. Basic hardware concepts are covered. Main topics include an overview of components of a computer, the components of system unit, operating systems and utility programs, communications and networks, the Internet and World Wide Web, Web development programs, e-commerce, and system maintenance. Designed for students who have some basic familiarity with Microsoft Office application. This course satisfies the computer competency requirement for general education.
