A study of the history, culture, and ideas of early world cultures, beginning with the oldest civilizations of the Ancient Near East and ending with the Age of Exploration and Colonization. This course examines the major geographical areas thematically, concentrating on the impact of the major world religions and the relationships between peoples as well as the political, economic, social, and technological development of these world religions. This course satisfies the area studies-social and behavioral sciences for general education.
